Trump is making American lives dirtier, poorer, and shorter.

Part I. Dirtier.

Spoiler: This is the first of three posts, each of them devoted to show how the most incompetent president in history is about to make millions of American lives miserable. This post will show how his climate denial policies will make USA dirtier.

But first, a short derail. I had not intended to write anything about Trump’s phone call with his boss, the little fascist in chief in the kremlin. However, I find it difficult to be silent about how Trump lets the little man in the kremlin humiliate him publicly. If anyone else had let Trump wait for an hour, Trump would have written something in anger with capital letters as he has done after talking to Justin Trudeau, Mette Frederiksen and others. But since Trump is the little fascist’s bitch, he accepted the humiliation.

Anyway. Today ‘s post is about Trump’s disregard and contempt for the environment and climate.

Trump thinks he can use coal as soap.

But producing more coal won’t work no matter how many capital letters he use. The reason is of course that coal mining is not profitable anymore. The costs of mining coal are too high. Now, Trump being Trump may of course throw subsidies at mine owners so he can declare another victory. But more coal would only drive prices down making mining even less profitable requiring more subsidies for production.

And that goes for oil too. In his inaugeration speech, the most incompettent US president in history also said: “Drill baby drill”. And he has declerad a national energy crisis when there is no crisis. USA exports more energy than it imports. If presidents or prime ministers in other countries were as stupid as Trump, they would say that they are subsidising US energy production. But they don’t. They know better than that. Trump knows nothing.

The energy crisis is in Trump’s brain.

Trump says that he wants more oil because he thinks energy prices are too high. Fat chance as Paul Krugman shows here. Yesterday’s price was just below $67. A few dollars less will make all new wells unprofitable. As usual, the solution to what Trump perceives as problem, is the opposit. Baby needs higher prices to drill.

Trump has not seen this graph, and if he’d seen it he wouldn’t understand it or call it FAKE NEWS.

Ok, so the above was a bit of a background, also showing that USA might not be as dirty as Trump wants it to be since the markets are against him. But since Trump knows less about economics than anyone else, that is beyond him. When he fails he will blame globalists.

To make sure that USA enters the Dirty Age, Trump has gone full climate denialist.

From his inauguration rambling:

I terminated the ridiculous Green New Scam. I withdrew from the unfair Paris ClimateAccord, which was costing us trillions of dollars that other countries were not paying. Iwithdrew from the corrupt World Health Organization, and I also withdrew from the anti-American U.N. Human Rights Council. We ended all of Biden’s environmental restrictionsthat were making our country far less safe and totally unaffordable. And importantly, weended the last administration’s insane electric vehicle mandate, saving our auto workersand companies from economic destruction.

Trump sabotages US green technology manufacturing.

European politicians and the EU Commission which previosly worried about European firms moving production and R&D to USA to take advantantage of the subsidies that Biden introduced, can now relax. The manufacturing investment and factory construction boom that took place due to Biden’s industrial policies will end.

Over the past four years, the United States has invested heavily in energy, semiconductors, manufacturing, and clean industrial production. The first wave of investments has yielded significant changes in the US industrial base — with over $126 billion in investment over the past two years — an early sign of success.

But since it was Biden’s policies that created the booms, Trump hates and denies that they have taken place. But thanks to people like Joseph Politano, we know the truth.

Throughout the Biden Administration, America has passed a flurry of bills designed to increase domestic investment as part of the country’s new economic and industrial strategies. That process began with 2021’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIF) and continued in 2022 with the passing of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and CHIPS Act, with those three bills heavily subsidizing US investment in physical infrastructure, clean energy, and semiconductor manufacturing, respectively. That spending is now bearing fruits today—since 2019, real US manufacturing construction has increased by 113%, real clean energy deployment has increased by 90%, and real public infrastructure spending has increased by 9%.

Onwards to the Dirty Age.

Trump suffers from executive order diarrhea which makes it impossible to keep track on all his moronic policies. But there are people who do. The Sabin Center for Climate Change Law at Columbia University has a web site with a data base keeping track of the Trump administration’s Diry Age policies. They also track Trump’s rolling back the Inflation Reduction Act.

And of course, since Trump hates people who know better than he does, essentially almost everyone on Planet Earth, he is out to Silence Science. The Sabin Center tracks his attempts at that too. He does it by firing people, defunding their research, banning publication of certain topics and denying facts.

All these actions by Trump and his evil and incompetent “administration” will not only make US citizens dirtier, they will also make American lives poorer and shorter. More about that later.
